Lord, what a day. It was bizarrely summer-like outside, all breezy and warm and sunny. I don't care how unseasonable it is, I'll take it. I spent the morning cooking and cleaning in a frenzy and then took pictures of the house to prove that it could actually BE CLEAN with some effort. How sad is it that I have to document the clean like it's a fleeting and rare state? Sad but true. Here's what I created:
- good old fashioned mashed potatoes
- fresh green beans with lemon juice and zest
- savory cheddar-pecan-cranberry cookies (a recipe I begged off my friend Marianne)
The family brought the rest: two kinds of pie, black bean and sweet potato stew, mac and cheese, turkey, dressing, cranberry relish, the works. Good stuff all around.
Happy Thankgiving, kids!
cool pics........... happy thanksgiving

That's all.
Great pictures. And you have the neatest house I've ever seen--I'm not sure I can continue reading your blog!
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel better, I spent the ENTIRE day before cleaning. It never ever looks like that which is why I took pictures!
ReplyDeleteBarbara, recipe is coming!
